429 <br /> <br />ADril 9, 1996 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, <br />April 9, 1996, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., J~unes C. Hawks, James T, Martin, <br />C~uneron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., Ronald W. Massie, <br />City Manager, G. Timothy Oksman, City Attorney. <br /> <br />96-127 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to <br />be held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, <br />801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aprll 9, 1996, <br />for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 96-128 - The following items were discussed in the <br />Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1, West Norfolk Road Improvements <br />2. Operating Budget <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Discussion of appointments by Council to committees, <br />boards, or commissions, as permitted by Subsection (A) (1). <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the condition, <br />acquisition or use of real property for a public purpose, or <br />the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by <br />Subsection (A)(3). <br /> <br /> (3) Discussion or consideration of specific legal <br />matters requiring the provision of legal advice by counsel, <br />as permitted by SUbsection (A) (7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hawk, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia, <br />certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the <br />City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were <br />identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was <br />convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting <br />by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />em-a Powell Pittman, CMC/AAE <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
