Judge as to when the position was abolished, the City Manager stated <br />that the position was abolished right then. <br /> Immediately after the hearing in Court, the City Manager addressed a letter <br />to 0hief W. B. Sykes of the Fire Department stating: <br /> "The position of Assistant Chief of the Fire Department, is <br /> hereby discontinued. <br /> Assistant ahief Richardson will resume his duties as Captain <br /> with authority to act as Acting Chief of the F2e Department, in the <br /> absence of the Chief." <br /> As a master of ~ecord, only the title of Assistant Chief has been <br /> discomtinued as Capt.
