The folio~dng recommendation of the City ~an~ger~ lald.on table at last meet~ <br />lng, was taken up: <br /> <br /> "L~st s~Ammer, we ina~ugurat~d a playground project on which we spent $I~194o~!o <br />There seems to be a city-wide demand for a-olayground project this year~ on a mu~h larger scale <br /> Last year, the project was for boys only; the one proposed for this year <br />would include botch boys and girls~ This will require~ in ~ddition the~ Buperintendent of Play- <br />grounds, amah s~d woman attendant at each p!~ce~ which would m~ a total of eleven playground <br />employees. ~ith the cost of sdditional equipment~ the total exp~en~iture v~uld be $2,~'~00o00~ <br />and will probably be vorth all it will <br /> ~e can ~pply any money ~eturned to us f~m the $500~OO ~ubscribed to the <br />Fleet Entertainmen~ Fund, ~s a part of the <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr~ Hutohins ye mak~ the required s~proprlation of $2,~O0o00~ was <br />adopted~ and by the follov~ng vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes: Leigh. E~ Warre~n: <br /> <br /> ~alter Ac~ Green <br /> Frank Q~ Richardson <br /> R. C~ Ir~in <br /> <br /> Motion of M~. Fox to go into the election of a Justice of the Peace for <br />Jackson ~ard~ was adopted° <br /> <br /> Mr. Fox nomirmted R~ C. Irwin and.upon the closing of the nominations, vote <br />being taken, R. C. Irwin was elected, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />For Er. Irwin: Leig~, Fox, Gr~-mes~ Howard, Hutohins~ Lawrence, <br /> Warren, Weiseman~ Wilson <br /> <br /> Mr. Fox stated that under a recen$~dinanoe, L.P. Slater was entitled to a <br />refund of $251.57, and on his motion, an appropriation of $251.5~ was made for said purpose, <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Leigh.
