Lee to be <br />paid $25. for having caused the arrest and conviction of Dennis Watford for stealing window <br />sash and doors from the premises number 2609 Cast Street. <br /> Z'flnd that the City Council on March 5, 193! passed the fot!o~ng resolu- <br />tion: <br /> ~That the City offer a reward of Twenty-five Dollars to any citi- <br /> 'zen who will furnish evidence that wi~ll lead to the conviction of <br /> anyeae who wantonly destroys thef6~l~hers,. <br /> <br /> The police court records show that~Dennis Watford'was tri~d on July 3,1939 <br />dpon a charge of gr~nd larceny. He was convicted of petty larceny and sentenced to 90 days <br />in Jail, and began serving tfae time. The witnesses were T. B. Lee and William Pullam, and <br />Police Officer A.C~ Ellis made the arrest. ~M r. Ellis info,ms me that Mr. Lee appeared at <br />the Poli¢~ Station with another man and s tated~that !~atferd had stolen certain material from <br />the property 2609 Cast St.~ and that this other man saw him. A search warTent was obtained <br />and the home of Warlord was searched and the material found'and identified by Er. Lee. I <br />have been t old that Mr. Lee has stated~that he paid Pullam to watch the property. The pro - <br />perry 2609 Oast Street belongs to M~r. Lee. <br /> It appears that Mr; Lee furnished evidence that led to the conviction of <br />Watford~ and it lies with the City Council as to ~hether it desires to pay the reward." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Howard to pay M~.
