<br />City Council, March 28th, 1939."

<br />On motion of Mr. Howard, said ordinance was adopted, and by the following vote:

<br /> The following ordinance, placed on its first reading, at last meeting, was

<br />"AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PLACING OF WASTE PAPER, TRASH AND
<br />RUBBISH UPON THE STREETS , A~R EXPEOTORATING UPON OR THROWING
<br />FRUIT SKINS AND PEELINGS UPON THE STREETS AND OTHER PUBLIC
<br />PLACES OF THE 0ITY, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY THEREFOR."

<br />On motion of Mr. Hutchins, said ordinance was continued on table until next

<br /> The following report from the Mayor, as special committee, laid on table at
<br />last meeting, was taken up:
<br />
<br /> "The committee on ~uang~ng the bus routes s~omitted to me the changes to be
<br />made on the Prentis Park line. I requested Councilmen W. Raymond Hutchins mud Frank D. Law-
<br />fence to view the matter with me and we came to the following conclusion: that the Prentis
<br />Park bus should be routed from its present terminus at the int.ersection of Lincoln St. and
<br />Deep Creek Road, as fellows:
<br /> Through Lincoln St. to Nashville Ave.,
<br /> south along Nashville Ave. to Palmer St., east along
<br /> Palmer St. to Deep Creek Road, northerly along Deep
<br /> Creek Road to Lincoln St., east along Linccln St. to
<br /> Des Moines Ave., north along Des Noines Ave. to Duke
<br /> St., east along Duke St. to Charleston Ave., south
<br /> along Charleston Ave. ~ Lincoln St., and thence east
<br /> along Lincoln St., following the route now used."

<br /> Motion of Mr. Grimes that the buses be routed in Harrison Ward as per b~s re~
<br />quest on September 12th and that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare an ordinance to
<br />cover s~me. No action.
<br />
<br /> Notion of Mr. Hutchins that the report be lald over ~ud ~hat Messrs. Weiseman
<br />and Grimes consult a traffic man from the Virginia Electric & Power Oo~oany office in Norfolk
<br />and agree on bus routing in their re~oective wards, was adopted.
