<br />when it was sold through a chancery suit brought for the purpose of enforcing its liens of ci

<br /> The ~ity Engineer has caused a survey of the land offered for sale,
<br />which is shown on a map prepared by Mr. Bergeron. It is more particularly described as fol

<br /> The property was offered for s~le at public auctlon, for cash, in
<br />front of the court house in the City of Portsmouth, to the highest bidder, on Saturday, Au
<br />gust 3, 1940, at 12:OO o'clock noon, after having first given ten days notice of the time,
<br />place and ~erme of sale by advertisement in the Portsmouth Brat, a daily newspaper published
<br />in the Oity of Portsmouth. The Housing Auti~ority of the Oity of Portsmouth, Virginia, a
<br />potation created under an Act of the General Assembly of Virginia, approved March 29th, t938,
<br />became the highest bidder for the property at the price of $59OO.OO.
