<br /> "WHERF. AS,.the City of Portsmouth is the owner of a vacant lot
<br />on the north side of Harrison Street, between Second and Moore
<br />Streets, and a house and lot at the northeast corner of Sixth
<br />and Edwards Streets, which ars not needed for the use and our-
<br />poses of the City~ and it is desirable that the p~operty be sold,
<br />NOW, THEREFOBE, be it resolved that the City Manager of the City
<br />of Portsmcuth be and he is hereby authorized to offer for sale at
<br />public auction in f~ont of the Court House in the City aforesaid
<br />real estate after first giving notice of ~he time, place, and
<br />terms of sale.by advertisement for ten days in the Portsmouth Star,
<br />a daily newspaper published in this City.~l

<br />friend and fellow-citizen, Louis A. Watson, who for the cast
<br />several years has faithfully and efficiently occupied t~e posi-
<br />tion as Inspector for the City of Portsmouth,
<br /> AND WHEREAS, the passing of Louis A. ~atson has deprived the
<br />City of a most valuable officer, '~o~ during his tenure of of -
<br />flee, was constant, faithful and always true to ~s trust and the
<br />fulfillment o f the duties of his positlon~ an incentive to those
<br />who knew him,
<br /> NOW THEREFOBE, Be it Resolved by the Council of the City of
<br />Portsmouth~ that we sincerely regret and d~olore the untimely
<br />demise of our friend and as~ciate, and
