676 June 10, 1996 (e) UP-96-04 TRUXTUN NEIGHBORHOOD ~ Request of Greater Mt. Zion Church for use permit to operate a church at 3100 Deep Creek Boulevard. Reverend Charles Hicks, 3100 Deep Creek Boulevard, provided information on the application. Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to concur with the recommendation of the Planning Commission that UP-96-04 be approved on first reading, and was adopted by a vote of 6-0. (f) CA-96-01 CODE AMENDMENT - Request by the City Planning Commission to amend the Zoning Ordinance to require use permits for Hotels and Motels and to add conditions for specific uses (Section 40-43.4.) Motion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to concur with the recommendation of the Planning Commission that CA-96-01 be approved on first reading, and was adopted by a vote of 6-0. (g) CP-96-01 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT - A Comprehensive Plan Amendment, Natural Environment Plan, modifying existing environmental conditions, and setting goals and objectives for Portsmouth's water, air, solid waste and natural environment. Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to concur with the recommendation of the Planning Commission that CP-96-01 be approved on first reading, and was adopted by a vote of 6-0. On motion meeting was adjourned at 7:58 p.m, APPROVED - Gloria O. Webb Mayor Sh~ila Powell Pittman, City Clerk CMC/AAE Councilman P. Ward Robinett, Jr. was absent.
