<br />wick, who asked permission to establiska general food store at~ 2OOS-!4High St. Mr. Brinkley
<br />asked permission to withdraw Mr. Warwick~s request, which was, on motion granted.

<br /> The follo~ng communications from the City ~&anager were read:

<br /> let - "I am attaching hereto a letter from the City Attorney, concerning the
<br />taxeso~ property owned by ~he Belt Line Land Oompany,~ on whichno taxes h~ve been paid since
<br />1924.
<br /> Inasmuch as the 0ity Attorney and the 0ity Oollector have very cs~efully!
<br />tone into t~Is matter, I will respectfully recommend that the City Attorney's recommendation
<br />tha~ $297,18 be refunded and applied to the back taxes now due, be approved by the City 0ouncil.
<br />This will result in the collection of approximately $2,800.00 in back ~axes."

<br /> Notion of Mr, Hutchins to concur in the ~anager~s recommendation and to appro
<br />priate $297,18 to make said refund, was adopted, and by the following vote:

<br />Manager was instructed to secure an estimate of the cost of improving the 0curt of Hustings
<br />room. The request of the Judge and the Bar Association was that the Oourt of Hustings be reno-
<br />vated and improved to make i~ comparable in looks and convenience ~o the newly renovated Norfolki
<br />County Circuit Court.
<br /> I have secured estimates as follows, to accomplish this work, ~nd will
<br />recommend that an ~opropriation be made to cover same:
