<br />Agreement to recommend to the City Oouncil that the
<br />prentls Park buses be routed down Washington Street to
<br />Lincoln Street, thereby eliminating the loop on Harri-
<br />son Street, Fifth Stree~ and Lincoln Street.

<br /> Agreemen~ that: ~hereas the 0ommlttee has been informed
<br /> in writing by the V.E.P. Oompany th~at 25 additional
<br /> buses have been ordered for service in Portsmouth de -
<br /> livery to begin about April 15th, and the committee rea-
<br /> lizing the possibility of these buses being diverted by
<br /> the War Production Board at Washington to other defense
<br /> centers, recommend ~hat a committee be appointed by the
<br /> authority of the Council to go to Washington to try to
<br /> expedite the delivery of these buses now on order by the
<br />V.E.P. Oompany.

<br /> Motion of Mr. Lawrence to approve Sections ~!, 3, 4, 6 and ?, and to lay on
<br />~he table until nex~ meeting Sections ~2 and ~5, was adopted.

<br /> The request of the Manager for an appropriation of $5,000.00 to purchase land
<br />on Effingham, Glasgow and North Streets, for a fire station, laid on table at last meeting, was
<br />taken

<br /> The report of the Accounting Department for the month of January was received
<br />and ordered filed.

<br /> Bill of J. Shirley Hope, State Game Warden, for destroying 57 tagless dogs,
<br />at $2.50 each, totaling $142.50, was presented.

<br /> On motion of Mr. Lawrence, the Treasurer was authorized to pay said bill from
<br />funds in her hands from collection of Dog Taxes.
