"~our Transportation Committee submits the following recommendations: <br /> <br /> 1. That ~the C~adock and Oradock Extended bus routes be re,outed as follows: <br /> <br /> From FourthSt. to Henry St. to Sixth St. to Go,pert ~Road and on <br /> to Cradoek, -over present founts, and that a traffic light be <br /> place~ at Fourth and Henry Sis., to be timed ~ith Lincoln St. <br /> traffi c light. <br /> <br />2. That the Prentis ATe. loop be eliminated from the Prentis Park bus route <br /> to speed up this line. <br /> <br />3. Tha~ theV.E.& P. Company place a ~oken salesman, at High and Crawl. oral <br /> Sts., and also at the Navy Yard gate to speed up ~he loading of buses~ <br /> at these two points. <br /> <br /> $. That this committee believing that the need for more bus transporta- <br /> ~tion will rapidly grow more acute due to the s~till rapidly increas - <br /> lng population; private ~oars~ being~ stored from. lack of tires and the <br /> rationing ef gas; that a great man. y of the present buses will soon <br /> have to be scrapped because of their age and condition; recommends <br /> that theCity Council of Portsmouth request the V.E. & P. Company to <br /> anticipate this dire need by ordering thirty five additional buses <br /> for delivery in September, 1952." <br /> <br /> On motion of Er. Lawrence, sections l, 3 and 4 were adopted and section 2 <br />was laid on table until next meeting. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr~ Fox _t~a~ the placing of a traffic ston and go light on High <br />St. and Fourth Ave. be'referred tot~e 0ity Manager and Traffic CommissiOn, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Motion of Er. Wilson that the City Attorney be requested to draw an ordi - <br />nance c-hanging the name of NinthAve. from High to North St. to McArthur Ave., was adopted. <br /> <br /> Privilege of the floor was granted Mr. Jas. Rosati, who presented the fol- <br />lowing letter: <br /> <br /> "Me hereby offer to purchase all the property adjoining the Municipal <br /> golf course situated in Portsmouth, shown in book 18 as block numbers A,B,C E and P, also <br /> page t9,' C, D, ~. G and X~ , <br /> The undersigned will agree to pay $?50.00 per acre, the acreage <br /> to be determined by a civil engineer, to be furnished by the sellers. Terms to be as follows: <br /> 25% at the time of settlement and the balance of deed of trust to be due on or before~18 months <br /> eT da~e of settlement with interest at the rate of 4% per annum, paYable ssmi-annua!ly and the <br /> deed ~f trust shall also have a clause whereby the purchaser s~hall have the right to release <br /> por~ions of this property, not less than one acre at a time upon the payment of the proportion-' <br /> ate amount of the deed of trust plus interest to date of release. <br /> We are attaching hereto a check in the amount of $500.00 to bind the deal <br /> if same is acceptable with your councilmen. <br /> The purchaser shall have t~e right to form a new corporation at the ti~e <br />~of settlement for this purchase. <br /> <br /> By <br />P.S.
