"On Monday, May lith, at 12:O0 noon, I offered for sale, at public auction,
in front of the Court House, rafter first giving ten days' notice of the time, place and terms
of sale by advertisement in the Portsmouth Star, the land at Glsnsheall~h, in accordmuce with
resolution adopted on April 28th, 1942. Mr. Jas. Rosati became the highest bidder for the
property at a price of $750.00 per acre.
The property was offered for ss~e with the underst~uding that lots ~5,6,
7, 8 and a portion ~f lots ~4 and 9 of block F andpavts of lots ~lO, Il, 12, 13 and l~ in
block G could b~ deducted from the acreage and reserved by the City to protect the golf course.
I believe this should be reserved in order that we may protect the best
interests of the Glensheallah Golf course.
After a consultation with Mr. Chandler Harper and others fs_~i!iar with
There are ~Oproximately 43 acres in this area that were advertised to be
sold, w~oh includes streets in the acreage. The area to be reserved for the goif course, as
previously mentioned, is approximately 5.1 acres of land~
