We, your said petitioners who dwell in and contiguous to t~s sai~ 800 block on Queen St., fear for our ~fetyand welfare at night. ~most $ightty ~sturbances of some unsavoury nature occur ~ght in f~nt of our ~mes, right doorsteps, even upon private p~perty, such ~etufo~ces i~ctuding hold~e ~d robberies, vicious argents ~d fights, ~necessary boiste~uaness ~d gener~ brewing of the laws of the 0ity and violations of common decency. Because this said 800 block persons w~ care little or noting for the peace ~d ~gnity of our city, and ~ app~ently hold law abiding residents of t~ area in ~ntempt, we, your sai~ petitioners, reques~ that th~ ~norable Oity Council t~e steps to relieve the said tension and ~sturbing condition. As a means toward the partial solution of the p~blem, we believe ~t more light in the said area ~uld be of great help in discouraging lawlessness, ~d we respectfully petition your Hon. Body to authorize the~ing of a stree~ light in the center of the s~d 800 block of Queen Yours in civic welfare legal service City, was adopted.
