<br />Norfolk Passes through, have not bee~ restored to their former condition,
<br /> I appreciate your bringing this to my attention and I am indeed
<br />sorry that this matter has been allowed to s~and so long. You may be sure that this will be
<br />given immediate attention."

<br /> The City Engineer and Oounc~ilman Howard made a survey of
<br /> this area last week and necessary repairs are now~eing made.
<br /> ~. Request for the Virginia Electric &Power. OOmpahy to pur-
<br /> chase ten buses. Request has been made to the Power Company
<br /> but Mr. Ross has been out of the City and I am unable to
<br /> port other t~an progress on this.
<br /> 3- Relative to the request of the Labor Umion, the 0ity has
<br /> installed a traffic light at Lincoln and Washington Sts.~ and
<br /> the City Engineer has been requested to place a slow sign on
<br /> the north side of Elm Ave., east of Washington St.
<br />--~ 4. With reference to Effingham St. being paved, the City re-
<br /> quested the Governmen~ last year to pave this as a naval ac-
<br /> cess road, but we were advised that we were turned down; We
<br /> are again making an application flor Effingham St;, Court
<br /> from High to Fourth, Fourth $t. from Court ~o the. Navy Yard
<br /> Gate, and Washington Bt. from South of ~he ~eaboard tracks
<br /> to High St."
