Fox, George L.Grimes, Russell M.Hall, <br />James N. Howard, W. R. nu chins, Frank D. Lawrence, C.E.Warren, <br />Pearle J.Wileon and Arthur S. Owens, City Manager. <br /> <br />at <br /> <br /> Minutes of regular meeting held Septe~oer 14th~ 1943, were read and %0 - <br />proved. <br /> The following communications from the City Manager were read: <br /> <br /> let ~I am in receipt of a letter from Mr. Nclin Simmons, Office of De- <br />fense Transportation, which will not allow us to out on ten ne~ taxicabs. <br /> I am referring this letter to the Committee on Transportation, <br />with the request that they confer with his representatives in ~ashington tomorrow, relative to <br />tsxicabs." <br /> <br />On motion ordered filed. <br /> <br /> 2nd - <br />which was presented at the <br />a study of t~his matter and <br /> <br /> "In regard to the request for-information on a Curfew rainance, <br />last meeting of the Council, I have not had sufficien.t time to make <br />expec~ to report a~ ~he meeting on October 12th. ~ <br /> <br />On motion ordered filed. <br /> <br />3rd - I have been a~vised by Kenneth Markwell, F.W.A. t{egional Director, <br />that the City of Portsmouth's request for ~idewalks and storm sewer facilities, Project VA 44- <br />344, i~ the amount of $85,000.00, has been approved.
