Hooe, City Game Warden, exceot <br />the ducks belonging to Rudolph Jackson. The ducks were killed in ~ebruary and Mr. Hope's in~o~ <br />marion im confined to statementsonly, as he was called several days after the ducks were killed,i <br /> Mr. Hope states he saw and counted the heads of Mrs. Eure's <br />chickens and tha~ as many chickens wepe used as possible and he betieve.s~her bill to be corre~ J <br />He states~ that he-weighe~l the..ehiokens~in all other cases,- e~cept those of Mr. Wilkins. He se- <br />lected ten of the average chickens~ of Mr. Wllkins and weighed them. A dog was killed in the <br />Wilkins yard, and the owhe, of the dogSc~d not be ascertained. He eta-tee he called Messrs. <br />John Taylor, L. C. Shetton and O. ~. Hudgins and all give .him the pries of thirty-e~ght cents <br />per pound. This price, however, was either for young chickens or an average price ms. I was in- <br />formed~ at the Office of Price Administration that ceiling prices~ were as follows: young chick- <br />ens, 39 cets.; hens 35 cts.; roosters 30 o~s. and ducks.2~ cts. <br /> <br /> It appea~rs that fowls should be considered at ceiling prices <br />and the bills should ~e allowed as follows: <br /> <br />Mrs. Cora Eure $ 28.00 <br />Joseph R. Oook and Francis ~.Belue, da~ed ~ugust 17, 19~3, relating to irregularities on the part of <br />W. E. Hannan, Jr., Sales Representative of the Nye Odorless Incine~tor Company. ~ <br /> The report reflects that this A~ency granted to the City of Ports - <br />~outh, Va., $~0~57~. for an incinerator project in that municipality. The estimate~ cost of the <br />entire project ms $115,OOO. Subsequent thereto., the ~ity of Portsmouth advertised for bids. <br />However, the award-was not approved by the Federal Works Agency and the mat~er was readvertised. <br />I~ connection with the readvertising for bids, the report reflects that Mr. Hadrian attempted to <br />stifle and prevent competition. <br /> Should ~he Council desire further information instructions will be <br />given to George R. Butler,Director, Division of Investigations, Federal Works Agency, Washing- <br />ton. D.
