<br />contracts have been ~oproved by the City Attorney.

<br />The following communication from the City Attorney was read:

<br /> "On April 16th, 1943, the Unlted-States. of America tookby condemnatlon~pro-
<br />ceedings cerSain land fronting on Chestnut Bt. and the Gosport Road belonging to Mrs. Margaret
<br />A. Bulloch. Under the law, the City es~ collect taxes on the~ land taken by the Government only
<br />up to the date of taking. Nfs, Bulloch-paid all the taxes, assessed against the property for
<br />the first half of 1953 and sheshould be re£~mded $25~80.
<br /> Mrs. Bulloch should be relieved of the taxes assessed on the land for the
<br />second half of 1943 as follows:
