<br />tion for the Water Superintendent, City Engineer and me to confer with officials in Washington, l
<br />with reference to our projects in the Oity. I further advised you that Commander C. C. Stutts
<br />of ~he Norfolk Navy Yard, and the ~yer would be requested to Join us at this conference. You
<br />readily agreed to my recommendation; therefore, I would like to make the following report:

<br /> The Federal~Works Agency~agreed to amend lout Project VA 44-~41, increasing their grant
<br />to $1,184,565.OO; the total cost on the ProJec~ for the construction of sewer lines within the

<br /> The attached telegram is confirmation and the formal application will be presented to
<br />the Council at mtm. next meeting.

<br />quested a drainage project on the following streets; Watts, Des MoinGs, Lansing~ Randolph and

<br /> It is Vez~y important that we control the drain water and water
<br />under the.streets as near as possible because of economy in the laying of our streets.
<br /> I am recommending.that the Enginee. rWs reques~ be granted and the
<br />Manager b~ authorized to proceed with the work a~ter appropriation 0 f the necessary funds is

<br /> Motion of Mr. Grimes to concur in the ~uagerWs recommendation and to
<br />place an appropriation of $?~848.50 for said purpose on its first reading, was adopted.
