Ti!ton, Brigadier General~ <br /> U.S. Army, Commanding. t~ <br /> <br />On motion ordered filed~ <br /> <br /> The bill of -$39~7~ -' from Te~ole Cook for l!? pounds of chicken, destroyed <br />by dogs, was:oresented. <br /> <br /> Motion~ Mr. Hutchins that ~ne Treasurer be authorized to p ay said bill <br />from funds in her hand~ from collection of Dog Taxes was adopted. <br /> <br />The following letter was read: <br /> <br /> "I am writing to ask for a refund of $1t.34 for a City tag which was put - <br />chased because of a mistake made by the City Collector. I purchased a set of state licenses <br />which were mismatched end I returned them ~o the office where I purchased them. I was given <br />a new s~t of licenses, but evidently the correction was no~ listed in the City Collector,s <br />office. In the meantime, I also purchased my city license ~ud it was recorded with the new <br />State license which I had purchased but th~ City Collector sent a notice saying I had not our- <br />chased them for the first %icense number which were returned to him. My wife, no~ knowin~ of <br />this, went immediately and bought a new city tag fearing that I~d be s~mmoned to court. After <br />I got home from work, i found ~his out and went ~o see Mr. Johnston~ the License Inspector, an4 <br />he checked my~atements and advised me to write-yom of the City Collector's e~ror. ~ow my carj <br />which is a 1931 Buick Sedan, beats S~ate tags No. 360-669 s~d City tag No. 1127~ which was <br />purchased on May 15th~ 1944. Th~ number li s~ed on .the recelot is llS1. I would aporeciate it <br />if you would take uo tY~s matter as soon as possi~!e and see that the necessary corrections ar~ <br />made end also the r~fund of $11.34 ,~' ~ <br /> wr~cn was the amount of tag clue oenatty. <br /> <br />Tnankzno you in advance, <br /> <br />I am respectfully yours, <br /> <br />Camro C. Siler, <br /> 1306 Green St., Ports." <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Howard ~o refer to the Ci~y Attorney, withpower to act, <br /> <br />was adopted. <br /> <br />The following letter was read: <br /> <br /> "gt the regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors held on this date, a <br />motion was adopted requesting your Honorable Body to appoint a committee to meet with a commit- <br />tee from the Bo~rd of Supervisors and the City Manager to discuss the serious problem of park- <br />ing cars of police officers and officials of Norfolk County in the City while on official bus- <br />iness. Wilson and Weiseman on said committee. <br /> <br />A communication from the Board of Supervisors of Norfolk County was, on <br /> <br />motion, referred to t~e Annexation Committee. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Howard to se~ nex~ <br />public nearing on t he 1945 budget, was adopted. <br /> <br /> On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />regular meeting, November <br /> City Clerk. <br /> <br />28th, as a <br /> <br />roved - <br /> <br /> President. <br /> <br /> *Re!erred that it had met <br /> <br /> and considered the matter of annexation most seriously and felt that <br />it-was the most mammoth undertaking ever to be confronted by any Port smcut~ City Council, <br />that a thoroug~ study is being made end would repo~t with recommendations as soon as possible <br /> <br /> <br />
