In the case of Deputy M~.H~ Hughes; Mr. Hughes has superv~sio~ of the inner Jail where there is much to be done ~o maintain a proper standard as required by the DeparSment of Corrections. There are three shifts in the jail work of which M r. Hug~e s perso~- ally supervises. You.~ill note that this man was increased only to the amo~ant of twenty four h6ndred dollars ($2,400~00) per hour or equal only to those deputies doing Jail work. In ad- dition to the work of. supervision, Mr. Hughes ~hasmany other duties as a relief in office and Oourt work because~ of the fact that every day brings new problems in our work. In order to place Mr. Hu~hes in a comma~ling position I respectfully quest that he be increased to $2,520.00 two thousand five hundred and twenty dollars per year, as originally requested.
