<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
<br /> of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the proposal of Yoemans Bro-
<br /> thers Oompany be accepted and the contract ~or the said
<br /> equipment be awarded the above-mentioned bidder, Subject to
<br /> the approval of-the Federal Works A~ency, of the United
<br /> States of America, and that the City Manager be authorized
<br /> to execute said contract on behalf of the City with the
<br /> seal of the City affixed and attested by the City Clerk."

<br />which will allow us to pick up stray dogs.
<br /> We will operate the new plan in full accordance with an or-
<br />dina~ee adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on June 2yth, 1933, and in order
<br />to complete this Job,~ it will be necessar~ to have a soecial appropriation of $2,500.00, which

<br />chase of land for right of way on Gosport road.
<br /> Nearly all of the fund has been used. However, it was
<br />dropped from the aopropriation at the beginning o_ the year 1944. There has been presented to
<br />us now a deed for land and the payment of $1,000. O0 is now due to the Estate of Samuel P.Oast,
<br />payable to Edward Oast, Administrator. Please authorize an appropriation of $1,000.O0 to pay
<br />said bill."

<br />Federal Government's offer in the amount of $?94,565.00, of which the City's part, was to be
<br />$3~1,670.OO.
<br /> I did not request an appropriation at that time because ~his
<br />is part of theoveralI sewage disposal plan, for which the taxpayers in t~his community voted
<br />by referendum authority for a bond issue in the amount of $1,700,OOO.00.
