Fox, James N. Howard,' Frank D. Lawrence, E. Robie Stur~ <br />tevant, C. E. Warren~ H.Earl ~eiseman, Pearle J.~i!$on~ and Arthur <br />S. Owens~ City Manager° <br /> <br /> Minutes of regular meeting held on April 24th were read and ap~rovedo <br /> RepOrt of the Committee on Park View Playground: <br /> <br /> ~His ~onor, the Mayor, appointed W.Ro Hutchins~- Pearls J. ~il~on - and <br />E. R~ Sturtevant ~o meet with the City Manager with reference to property in ~est Park Visw~ <br />owned by Syies and ~ilder. The land would be used as a plaYgroUnd by the City. <br /> It is our recommendation that the land be purchased at a Drice no~ tol <br />exceed $4,500o00., with all ~axee and interest paid ~hroughApri! 30th, I~45, <br /> It is our belief this will make an emcellent playground and the chil- <br />dren of West Park View are in great need of this facilityo~ <br /> <br />0ommittee - <br /> <br />~.R. Hutchins, Chairm~ <br />Pearle J. ~i!son <br /> Robie Sturtevant.~ <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Sturtevan~ that the report be aporoved and an appropria- <br />tion o f $4,500.00 for said purpose be laid on table until the nex~ meeting, was adopted. <br /> <br />following~ Privilege of the floor was granted ~ro~ George Smith, who presented the <br /> <br /> "I hereby offer to ourchaae from the Oity o f Portsmouth all ~hose <br />certain ps, eels of land,.~eing lots 55, 56/ 5~, ~8~ 59~ 60, 61, 62, fronting on Perry Street <br />and lots 63~ 64, 65 and 66 fronting on Glasgow S~reet~ said lots ~ituate at 'the southeast in- <br />t~rseotion of Glasgow and Perry Streets in the City of ~Portsmouth; and the Jib lots adjoining <br />said lots~ <br /> I would like for the aforesaid orooerty to be advertised for sale <br />s~oject to the lease now outstanding on lots 59, 60, 6~an~d 62 frontingo n Perry Street and <br />lots 63~ 64, 65 and 66 fronting on Glasgow Streets, end in the event anyone other than the <br />lessee, W.H. 6&cell,Jr., should become the purchaser of the aforesaid property~ they are to <br />pay W.
