96-315 - MOtion rescheduling the October 22 Council meeting to October 15, 1996
and rescheduling the November 11 Council meeting to November 12, 1996,

"In reviewing the calendar for the next couple of months, there are two
meetings which Council may wish to consider rescheduling. During the latter part of
October, four Council members will be attending the Virginia Municipal League
Conference. I would, therefore, recommend that the meeting regularly scheduled for
Tuesday, October 22nd be moved forward to Tuesday, October 15,1996, This
change will allow Council to consider the Community Development Block Grant
program within the schedule set forth by the Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD), A later date would require that the City make a special request
of HUD for a deadline extension.

Additionally, Veterans Day, a City recognized holiday, falls on Monday,
November 11th. Likewise, I would recommend that the public hearing planning
items normally scheduled for that evening be scheduled for the next evening,
Tuesday, November 12, 1996.

I, therefore, respectfully present this information for your consideration. With
your approval, staff will take the necessary steps to advise the public of these
changes."

Motion by Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to reschedule the meeting
of October 22 to October 15 and November 11 to November 12, and was adopted by
