<br /> Minutes of regular meeting held November t3th were read and approved.

<br /> The following letter from Mr. Jesse M. Overton, Chairman of the Planning Commis-
<br />sion of the City of Portsmouth,-was read:

<br /> "The Planning 0ommission of the Oity of Portsmouth has adopted a resolution
<br />recommending to the City Oounoil that the City of Portsmo~uth be divided into zones as shown on
<br />a map prepared by Harland Barhholomew Associates, Incorporated in~o the attached proposed
<br />zoning~dinance, and that ~he ordinance be adopted, and made effective in the 0ity of Ports-
<br />mouth.~
<br />
<br /> The Chair stated that the Planning Ordinance would have to be advertised and a
<br />public meeting set for its consideration and that the communication would be referred to a
<br />public meeting to be held Dee.ember 26th, 19.$~.
<br />
<br />The following communications from t~e City Manager were read:

<br /> !st - "During the past three years, my office has attempted on several occa-
<br />sions to secure adequate transportation services for our people who desire to visit Virginia
<br />Beach during the summer season, The Norfolk Souther~ Bus Corooration has petitioned the State
<br />Corporation On,mission for a direct line from Portsmouth ~o ~irginia Beach.
<br /> It seems befitting that this body should adopt a resolution to the
<br />State Corporation Commission, urging the route be granted."

<br />of public convenience and necessity as a Qommon carrier by

<br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and the Junction of U.S. High~
<br />ways Nos. 13 and 58 over the following routes, to-wit:
