September 24, 1996 <br /> <br /> At a CaJled Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, September 24, 1996, <br />there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor James W. Holley I11, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. <br />Griffin, Sr., James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas <br />Benn III, Ronald W. Massie, City Manager, G. Timothy Oksman; City Attorney. <br /> <br /> 96-320 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 <br />p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 1996, for the purpose of an Executive Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br />96-321 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br />1. Water Sampling Stations <br />2. Corporate Graphics <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr, Clemons, to go into Executive <br />Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the <br />following: <br /> <br /> (1) Discussion or consideration of the condition, acquisition or use of real <br />property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as <br />permitted by Subsection (A)(3). <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion concerning a prospective bus!ness or industry or expansion of <br />an existing business or industry where no previous announcement has been made of <br />same in the community, as permitted by Subsection (A)(5). <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section 2.1- <br />344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by <br />which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> APPROVED - <br /> <br /> Dr. James W.
