Chairman.~ <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Wilson to appropriate $50.OO for said purpose, was adopted. <br /> <br />The Chair appointed Mr. Wilson to represent the City. <br /> <br />The following letter was~read and ordered filed: <br /> <br /> "The Polygon Club has followed with interest various comments on Day <br />light Saving Time for the City~of Port~mouth during the summer mOhths. ~t our regular meeting <br />on March 13, 19~6, the Club voted to endorse this proposal and advise the City Council of our <br />action. <br /> Ne believe, that both the Portsmouth City Counbil and the ~orfolkCi~y <br />Council are in favor of Daylight Saving Time for this area~ provided that it can be approved <br />under existing state laws. We believe that the present law was not enacted with the idea of <br />eliminating Daylight Saving Time, and hope that you will take appropriate action to'determine <br />the possibility of putting Dayligh~ Saving Time in effeo~ in the City of Port~mouth. <br /> <br />Very truly yours, <br /> <br />The Polygon Club, <br /> J.
