The following communications from the City Ms_uager were read: 1st - ~I am appointing the fgllowing four men to the regular Police Department, f or a p~obationary period of fou~ months: Robert Anthony Young, William_ Jennings Ullom, Charles Bu~foot Buchanan, Jr., W.J. Archer, Jr." On motion ordered filed. 2nd - ~The City wishes ~o open a street from Eighth Ave. to Scotts Creek (west) and we a~e able to purchase a lot fromm Nms. L.J. ~ti~ f or $500.00.
