<br />widening, packing, etc., on certain streets of our City.
<br /> These r econnuendations were made after a very ext~ensive study and discus-,
<br />sion of Harland-Bartholomew and Associates reoort on the "Eajor Street Plan for Portsmouth"
<br />by'a sub-co~ttee of three members from the P1maning'Commissionand eight gentlemen repre
<br />sen;lng the Junior and Senio~ Chambers of CoE~erce; the Rotary, ~ions, Polygon, Z~wanis and
<br />Optimist Clubs of our City and adopted by the Planning Commission at their regula~ meetingi n

<br />Pls~uing Comm~ission with the r eco~.endation that these suggestions be approved and passed on
<br />to the Portsmouth CSty Council:
<br /> 1. That parking be eiim~uated on ths north side of County ~reet
<br />from Western Branch Road to Water Street a~d that direction of travel be limited to an east-
<br />erly direction only.
<br /> ~. That the London-Glasgow St. radical route be changed as follow~:
<br />The radical route consists of London Street from ~Iddle Street to Second Avenue, then north on
<br />Second Avenue to GlaSgow Street; then west on Glasgow Street to Western Brancb~ Road, and traf-
<br />fic to move in a westerly direction only. No parking on the south side of London Street, and
<br />no parking on the west side of Second Avenue and both sides of Glasgow Street of this route
<br />from ~iddle Street to Western Branch Road.
<br />
<br /> 3. That the traffic on Glasgow Street between Effingham a~d Craw-
<br />ford Streets be one-way and that it move in an easterly direction o~y. Also that there be
<br />no pa~king on the north side of ~lasgow Street, between Effing~au~ and Craw~ord Sts.

<br /> 4o T~.at the traffic control in the vicinity of High Street, Wes-
<br />tern Br~ach Road a~ud ~cArthur Avenue be revised as follows:
<br /> (a) That the traffic on McArthur ~ve. between Glasgow St.
