Howard, said ordLuam_ce was adopted ~ud by the following Ayes: Nays: Fox, Grimes, Henderson, Howard, Sturtevmut, Warren, Weisem~u, Wilson None The followzno letter was read s~ud or doted filed: ~Oce~n Lodge V6, Brotherhood of Locomotive ~remen and Enginamen have, adopted a resolution opposing Daylight Saving Time. The resolution follows: 'Resolved that 0cean Lodge V6, B of L. F & E. be recorded as tu~alterably opposed to the adopbion o f Daylight Saving Time on the just grounds that it wilt cause great inconvenience and trouble st work before seven A.M. or get off work at midnight or later, and who v~ll still b e goVerned by Standard time. Under Daylight Time, they will be getting off an hour later, after all regular t~anspor- ration has ceased to operate,'m~ing it difficult or impossible fo~ them to get to their homes. Railroad ~nployees fo~m a very large segment of our population, therefore, our voice should b e heard on this important issue. ~rthe~more, the ~tate Legislature enacted a lmw p~ohibiting any co~m~uity from mdopting D~light time unless it was universal throughout the State. Be it further.resolved that a co~y of this resolution be sent to the City Couucmls of Norfolk and ~ortsmouth, urging them to vote against such proposal, and that a copy be sent to the local press that this action of our organization~y be made public.
