<br />requested the Portsmouth City Council to adopt a resolution recognizing and endorsing the
<br />Portsmouth-Norfolk County Veterans Housing Corporation, as a suitable group to handle the dis-
<br />position of Alexander Park houses on a non-profit basis.
<br /> I will read the resolution and reco~end its adoption."

<br /> WBEREAS, Portsmouth-Norfolk County Veterans Housing Corpor-
<br />ation, chartered~uder the laws of the State of Virginia, a
<br />non-profit co~poration and having its principal office in the
<br />City of Portsmouth, ~ud~having as its object the acquisition
<br />of homes for veterans by purchase fro~ the United'States
<br />~merica, and the disposal of such homes to veterans in accord-
<br />ance with the rules ~ud regulations of the Federal Public
<br />Housing Authority, and

<br />or that the erection or use o£ an~homes by it shall be in
<br />violation of any ordinance of the City."
