<br />Struble,Chief Engineer, Pennsulvania Railroad, relative to allowing the City the privilege of
<br />using Wesley St., as a physical connection between'Pinners Point and Port Norfolk.
<br /> The three conditions incorporated in Mr. ~truble's letter are as
<br />follows:
<br /> 1. That the City of Portsmouth accept a revocable easement across the Railroad
<br /> right of w~y for the t en~porary extension of Wesley St. across its track.
<br /> 2. That the cost of constructing and maintaining the roadway between the right
<br /> of way lines of the Railroad be paid for by the City of Portsmouth.
<br /> 3. That the City of Portsmouth pay for and maintain any and all protection that
<br /> may be needed to s afe~ard the temporary grade crossing proposed to be con -
<br /> structed.
<br /> I do not see any objection t o the first two; however, the third
<br />should be clarified in order that the City will be protected from unusual experiences.
<br /> I am respectfully requesting that I be authorized to work with
<br />the City Attorney toward drawing uo a suitable agreement later, to be returned to the Council
<br />for confirmation.'
