<br />it is contemplated that Elm Avenue from Leckme S~reet to Arn~ Street 'in ~tarshall Ward be zoned
<br />for con~nercial establishments;
<br /> ~£mereas, the property owners on Elm Avenue and other property owners of
<br />Marshall Ward feel that no additional c~n~e~cial estabiis~ents should be erected or con-
<br />structed in said ~arshall Ward, but that it should remain strictly a residential section;
<br /> Be it resolved that the ~u~dersigned proper~yowners of Marshall Ward
<br />hereby petition~the City Co~u~cil ~of ~he City of Portsmouth to eliminate from said proposed
<br />Zoning Law before enacting int~ Law the contemplated proposedzoning of El~ Avenue from Leckie
<br />Street~to Arn~ Street in Marshatt Ward from residential section to co~mnercial.
<br />~¥e believe the above--mentioned two blocks on ELm. Avenue should remain
<br />strictly a residential section instead of a co~nercial for the best interest of our citizens.
