Federal Public Rousing Authority for a building which is now located on this lande~

Inclosure - ~The Norfolk County School Board is interested in acquiring control
of aoproximately three acres of land situated on the south side of the intersection of
Ro~&~n Avenue and ~cLea~u Street in Alexander Pa~k. This parcel of !and is a part of the Ports-
mouth City poor farm. On t;mis tract are two buildings~ both used for schools. The school
building is owned by the Fed.oral Norks Agency and they indicate their willingness to s ell the
buildings to Norfolk County zf the control of the la_~d is acquzred. The other building evened b~
~he F.P.H,A. can also be acquired by the County if the County has control of the land.
I have dicsussed this at length -¢_th ~¥. Ba_wclay, and he is thoro~A~h
ly familiar with the circ~astances. Norfolk County is willing to purchase this amount of land
or if the City prefers to make a term lease with the ~derstanding that when the land is no
longer used for educational purposes it would be returned to the City. We also asa&me the ob-
ligation, if it is the wishes of th.e C.ity of Portsmouth, that, upon r etur~img said land to the
