<br />have power, s,ubjed~ to t he approval o~ the Common Co~c!ls, to prescrzbe the number and boo~ds
<br />of the Schoo~ Districts - - - ~. The' law also proVides that there shall be three members from
<br />each district the terms of whom shall expire one-third each year.
<br /> The School Board, on Friday, June 18th, adopted the following resolu-
<br />tion:

<br />~That the City of Portsmouth be redistricted as to School Districts
<br />to include the newly ar~uexed areas; that there be three school dis-
<br />tricts as at present with a total of nine School Board Members; that
<br />the bo~ds of the three districts be as follows:

<br />F~st Dzstrict: The area _nctuded in Jackson Wa~d, Jefferson Ward,
<br />Marshall' Ward and ~,ior~oe Ward (~th an elementary sc~hoo! enrollment
<br />of ~00 pupils)
