Wilson to concur in the Eanager's recommendation, w as <br /> <br />adopted. <br /> <br /> 2nd - Th~ ~ermcm~ Legmen, in sponsoring a Community Band, has d~n~ <br />considerable work in the City Park, mn connection with the Sunday afternoon band concerts,whzc~ <br />are being held for the benefit of the public, and they a~e asking for an appropriation o f <br />to complete the installation of the band shell i~n the Park. <br /> This concert is drawing several thousand people and I sugges~ <br />that this appropriation be made.~ <br /> <br /> Motion of ~. Howard to place ~u appropriation of $800.00 for said <br />purpose, on its first reading, was adopted. <br /> <br /> 3rd - "I have inspected the high school corridors and stairways, <br />which embrace the work which Mr. Hunt proposes to do in that building. <br /> Water has gotteni rite this plastering to such an extent that <br />the lime has started to effervesce and fall to the floor. The metal corner beads .have started <br />to rust to such an extent that they will soon rot away from the wall. Some of thms work is on <br />the stairways leadim~ to the auditorium end if it is not repaired, I feel certain that some of <br />the walls will fall. I do s~gest that this work ~e done at once. <br /> The cost involves 'an e xpendit~re of $11,835.00 and this <br />amount should be included in the bonds which will be sold to take care of the appropriations <br />made at the last meeting of the Council, ~or high'school repairs.~ <br /> <br /> MotionofMr. Howard to place an appropriation of $11,835.00 for said <br />purpose on its first reading, was adopted. <br /> <br /> 4th - "People who make application for the installation of fuel oil <br />tanks are being delayed several days in having their applications approved, due to the present <br />ordinance, w~ch requires the ' <br /> Cmt~ ~anager s approval of these applmcatmons. <br /> can see no necessmty for thms because these installations <br />are supervised by the Fire Department. I should like to have you amend the present ordinance <br />deleting the psmt which requi~es the City Manager's signature on these applications, and there- <br />by expedite the issuance of such pe~mits. <br /> The City Attorney is familiar with this amendment." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. H oug~ton to place the following ordinance on its first <br />reading, was adopted: <br /> <br /> <br />
