A report on this inspectioni s submitted herewith. <br /> It is imperative that-a suitable lockup space be provided. Until this <br />is accomplished, the present space should be thoroughly cleaned daily a s outlined in the ac - <br />companying report. <br /> Assuring you of the cont_nued interest of this Division and cur willi <br />ness to be of ~ssistance to you ~n anyway we can concern&ng your jail problems, I am, <br /> <br /> ~ou~s very t z~.ly, <br /> <br />R.~. ouell, Actzng Dzrector, <br /> Division of C oz~ections. ~ <br /> <br />The following letter w as read and referred to the City Manager: <br /> <br /> "The jail of the City of Portsmouth was inspected by this Division o n <br />August ~, 1~48. City Elec- <br />trician to make a survey of street lights in the annexed territory and ~ae Superintendent of <br />the Water Department to make a survey of fire hydrants in a~exed territory. <br /> <br />Mr. Fred A. Fay offered the City a playground i n North T~uxton. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gri~.es~ motion to refer to the City ~Y~nager, with power to a ct, was <br />adopted. <br /> Motion of Mr. ~'ilson to place on its first reading an appropria~iono f <br />$800.00 for sidewalks on the south side of Glasgow Street, Second Avenue and the western line <br />of the City property, was adopted. <br /> <br />On motion a djouEaed. <br /> <br />Appro ye d - <br /> resident <br /> <br />City Clerk. <br /> <br /> <br />
