<br /> Motion o f Mr. Henderson tha~ Chapter 3, Section 5 of the License Tax
<br />Ordinanc~ be made to read as follows, was adopted:
<br />
<br />~If ~ne freight paid by a retail merchsm_t on any article sold
<br />by him shall exceed twenty-five per cent~m of the price paid
<br />by him for the article itself, the amount of such freight in
<br />excess of twenty-five per centum of the said purchase price of
<br />the article, shall be eliminated from consideration in ascer
<br />raining the amount o f sales of such merchant and the tax to be
<br />paid thereon.~

<br /> Notion of Mr. Henderson to amend the License Tax rm~nance as follows,
<br />was placed on its first reading:

<br />~The following are two amendments i propose to the License Tax Ordinance
<br />
<br />1st - Add to Chapter 2 a new section to be ntnnbered V A -
<br />
<br />2nd -
<br />
<br />'Each shoe parlor or like place for shining shoes,
<br />$15.00 for two chairs or less, and for each addi -
<br />tional chair in the place of business, ~2.50 per
<br />year. This in addition to any other tax imposed by
<br />this ordinance.
<br />Ead~ boot-black, carrying on business on t he streets
<br />of the City, ~12.00.
<br />Add to Cha~ter ~ a new section to be numbered 18 A -
<br />
<br /> Each person, f izau or corporation who shall engage
<br />in the business of packing oysters and crabs or fish,
<br />or all three kinds, $500.00 per year. Packing crabs
<br />only, ~75.00. Not pro-rated.

<br /> Eotion of Er. Bi!isoly to grant the privilege of the floor to ~. W.
<br />Fray~r Gorman, President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, was adopted.
<br />
<br /> ~r. Gor~man stated that his organization is sponsoring a "Fly-killing~
<br />~eek, beginning Nay 8th, and that if garbage cans and garbage trucks were sprayed ~iberally
<br />with D.D.T., mt would destroy about ~0% of the flies.
<br />
<br /> N orion o f Mr. Howard t~hat we endorse the Junior Chamber of Commerce
<br />fully in this matter and that the City Nanager be authorized to co-operate with them, was
<br />adopted.
<br />
<br /> Motion o f Mr. Henderson to grant the privilege of the floor to Mt. Har-
<br />ris, was adopted, and by the follcwing vote:

<br />the purpose of altering zones and reclassifying the following property:
