Eo Pa~ker, P~esident John A. ~oz~is,Vice President.~ The following resolution was, on motion of ~r. ~ilson, adopted: ~WHER~$, the City of Portsmouth has been for the past two yea~s dumping trash and garbage in a creek west of Shea's Terrace ~nd east of the Belt Line Railroad, and ~EREAS, the dumping of this foul matte~ has caused the breeding of flies-and other~ve~min~ and W~EREAB, the ode~, especially when the wind is from the w est, is very obnoxious to the citizens of this area, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that it is the opinion o f the residents and pro- perry owners of Shea Terrace, that all dumping on this d~np should be discontinued during the s~mmer months. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Eanage~ ~e requested to h~ve all dumping discontinued between July i au d December 31~~ The City ~anager stated that he had taken u p with th~ Highway Co~mis- sion the condition of tke Highway between ~PortS~outh and Suffolk and they stated that thei~ ~udget for this year ca~ried an amount For repairs and none for re-surfacing. Notion of ~ro ~elseman that the City Nagger request the State High- way Commission for an~nount to resurface t~e highway between Portsmouth and Suffolk, t o be included in next year s budget, was adopted~ ~&v. ~enderson stated that the plot of land bounded by First Avenue, L~ekie Street and Ann Street had been filed and on his motion ~he City Narager was requested to consider the said plot for a playground for Pa~k View.
