<br />Motion~F ~. Grimes to concUr in the Zoning Commission's report, was

<br />adopted.

<br /> The privilege of the floor was granted ~ Malouin, who stated that the
<br />Veterans of Foreign Wars wished to withdraw their ~equest to purchase the parcel of land on
<br />the southeast corner of Randolph and Washington Sts.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Fox stated that his committee is favorable to f~nishing water to
<br />South Norfolk if and when a mutual agreement is worked out.
<br />
<br />The following communmcat_~ons from the City Manager were read:

<br /> 1st - "We have now completed the plans for the proposed new Police

<br />appointed on said Committee.
<br /> 2nd - "i have a letter from Mr. H. A. Hu~t, Superintendent of
<br />Public Schools, stating that two of ou~ teachers have been retired amd I recommend that they
<br />be placed on the g~a2dity list along with the other retired teachers."

<br /> Motion of Mr. Sturtevant to approve the Manager's r ecom~aendationa nd to
<br />appropriate $560.41 for the balance of the year, was adopted, and by the follo~rlng vote:

<br /> Ayes: Fox, Billsoly, Duke, Grimes, I~nderson, Houghton,
<br /> Reward, Sturtevant, ~arren, Weiseman, Wilson
<br /> Nays: None

<br /> 3rd - "I have a letter from the City Engineer and also a memorandum
<br />from the City Health Director, who is also a member of the Retirement Board, regarding the re-
<br />tirement of H. A. Cutchins and John Bunch.
<br /> I recommend that you place these men on a retired list as they
<br />are no longer serviceable to the City.~
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Wilson to retire H. A. Hutchins a~ $2D.00 per week mud
<br />John Bunch at ~18.50 per week, and to appropriate tV4Vo00 for the balance of the year, was
<br />adopted, and by the following vote:
