This property i ~ presently zoned for multiple-family dwelling dzszr_ct, <br />and a ~equest to the Planning and Zoning Commission to rezone it for commercial purposes was <br />denied, with the reservation, however, that the Planning and Zoning Commission would not ob <br />ject i~ the City Council saw fit to amend its zoning ordinauce to hermit radio stations and <br />studios to be erected in such areas that had been zoned for multiple family dwelling purposes] <br /> The Co~mmittee on Industrial Development looked into this and found that <br />~0W desired to locate in Portsmouth, that they would spend around ~1~5,000. for development, <br />ah ...... umd bri~ 18 e~,~lo~rees to Portsmouth and a payroll~of $60,000.00 a year, and ~at thei~ <br />~h~' for ~pplie~ e%c. would certainly ~mo~.t to another $100,000.00:~ In+additzon there <br />to- if and when this station should go znto t&levzsion, they~would be requ~ed ~o spend at <br />least ~200,000.00 more.
