Youell, Director, Division of Correc- <br />tions, was read and referred to the City ~{anager: <br /> <br /> "The lockup of the City of Portsmouth was inspected by this Division on <br />October 20th, 1949. A report on this inspection is submitted herewith. <br /> This office would like to be informed of any progress v~aich is being <br />made toward the establishment of better lockup facilities. <br /> Assuring you of the continued interest of this Division and our will- <br />ingness to be of assistance to you in any vzay we can concerning your lockup problems, I am~" <br /> <br /> The following letter from R. ~{. Touell, Director, Division of Correc- <br />tions, was read and referred to the City ~ana~er: <br /> <br /> "The jail of the City of Portsmouth was inspected by this Division on <br />October ~0th, 1949. There being no other nominations, Mr. <br /> <br />as City Clerk and Auditor, <br />Johnson was elected and by <br /> <br />Agsinst <br /> <br />Johnson: Fox, Billso~y,~ Duke, Grimes, Henderson, <br /> Houghton, Howard, Sturtevant, V~arren, ~eiseman <br /> Wilson <br />~Ir.
