Barclay, City Attorney. <br /> <br /> Vice President ~ilson in the Chair. <br />proved. Minutes of the regular meeting held on May 9th~ 19~0 were read and ap - <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Duke that the rules be suspended and that the privilege of <br />the floor be granted a delegation of lndies from Tyler Ward~ was adopted. <br /> <br /> N~s. West~ representing the RiverPark Civic Club, asked for relief <br />from a deplorable condition caused by quantities of ~RS~ in the vicinity of John Tyler School~ <br />and requested ~he Council to appropriate $$9~.00'to plamt grass in the area surrounding the <br />school~ to correct the. condition complained of. <br /> <br /> Motion of ~. Duke that the City Manager get in touch ~ th the School <br />Board and request that something be done immediately and offer the City's co-operation, <br />if necessary~ the assistance of our City Engineer and that the City appropriate up to $~95.O0 <br />from the Utility Fund or Bond Fund~ for the planting of grass in the area described~ was <br />adopted. <br /> <br /> The City Manager requested that the ordinance relating to annual vaca- <br />tions and sick leaves be taken from the table and amended by excepting members of the Police <br />27th~and Firel9~5.Departments, wh_ch employees are covered for vacations, in an ordinance adopted March <br /> On motion of Mr. Warren, the ordinance was taken from the table and <br />amended as requested by the City Manager. <br /> <br /> On motion of N~. Howard to approve Item #2 was adopted. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Grimes to approve Item ~3 was adopted. <br /> <br />In connection with Item#$ , the followir~ petition from the Hyde Park <br /> <br />dentia!: <br /> <br /> "We the members of the Hyde Park Civic League are petitioners of the <br />ch~ging of our residential section that extends from Vermont Ave. to H&~ilton Ave. on the <br />south side of Glasgow St.~ back to Queen St., to Light Industrial Section. <br /> The following reasons we would like for this one block to remain resi- <br /> <br />1. It would increase the traffic and endanger our children that <br />attend Mt. Hermon Public Sdhool. <br />2. We left High St. and other sections of the City for the same <br />reason~ and came out here to build a decent Residential Section. <br /> <br /> <br />
