The following reports from the City Manager were read: 1st - "On April 25th ~ !9~0~ I s~o~tted an0rdinance to Amend ~ud Re-ordain Exhibit k attached to and made a cart thereof of~u Ordinance adopted by the Council of the City of'Portsmouth on july 28th:~1926:~title8 'An Ordinance To Regulate Motor Bus Passenger Transportatioh in the City of Portsmouth and the kmendments Thereof'. At that time:the ordinance was tabled and I now suggest that it be t~ken fro~ the table and that ~u amended ordinance be substituted therefor ~ud considered by the Council. It is my u~derstanding that the members of Council ~u whose wards the bus transoortati0n has been changed by this ordinance~ have been conferred with by a representative of the Transoortation Company and that the substituted ordin~cehas been agreed to. Bi!isoly that the question of closing the ea~ end of South Street~ as requested by the Tunnel Commission be referred to the City Attorney and that the question of the drair~ge ditch located on the proposed site of the t-~nne! be~_ug changed~ be referred to the City Nanager andCity Engineer~ was adopted. 3rd - "I st~omit herewith a request from the Elizabeth River Tunnel Commission for permission for a temporary easement for the life of the U.S.0. ~uild~g ap - proximately tbr~e feet of encroachm~ent on Cra~,~ord St. in accordance with ~he letter attached hereto. I recommend that the oermit be granted."
