Wright property on Kirn Avenue to a depth of lll <br /> feet ~d being rectangular is 495.7 feet on the rear ~nd run - <br /> ning westwardly to Kirn ~venue through lot 176 from MuIt~le <br /> Class D to Commercial Class G." <br /> <br />mission: was adopted. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Howard to approve recommendation of the Zoning Com- <br /> <br /> The following reports from the City Manager were read: <br /> <br /> 1st - "The purpose of this letter is to request that a special <br />meeting of the City Council be e~lled for Tuesday~ December 5th: 1950~ at 7~30 P.~.~ for the <br />ouroose of considering bids recemved for the $1~7~000.00 bonds being offered for sale by the <br />Oit~ of Portsmouth on that date." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. W~rren to concur and that a special meeting of the <br />Council be called for December gth~ was adopted. <br /> <br /> 2nd - "I am submitting herewith a deed of dedication and agree- <br />ment between the City of Norfolk sad the City of Portsmouth~ Virginia~ for au easement for a <br />street at Hartford St. smd Broad St. in the City of Portsmouth and I recommend that the Mayor <br />be authorized ~nad directed to execute the deed and that the City Clerk be authorized and di- <br />rected to sttest the same and affix the seal of the City thereto." <br /> <br /> Motion of M~. Roward that the Mayor be s3athorized to sign the deed <br />and that the City Clerk attest the same~ affixing the seal of the City: was adopted. <br /> 3rd "The f~mericanMunicioal Congress will be held in Washington~ <br />D.C.~ on December 3rd: 4th and ~th~ 19gO. Thais CongreSs will be composed~ of representatives <br />from practically all of the major cities in the United States~ and many distingumshed speakers <br />will appes~ on the program~ among them ~ll be Desn Acheson~ Secretary of State. A copy of the <br />program is attached hereto. <br /> For a number of ye~rs~ the M~yor of the City of Portsmouth <br />has attended these conferences and I recommend that the Mayor attend this conference. I have <br />already secured reservations which may be cancelled in case the Mayor does not desire to st- <br />tend_." <br /> Motion of i~. Bilisoly that the Mayor be authorized to attend the <br />meeting~ was ~dopted. <br /> <br /> 4th - "I ~m submitting herewith a resolution from the Woman's <br />A~uxil~ry of the Kings Daughters Hospital ~ud a letter from Mr. Frar2~ C. Ranrahan ~nd~also tk <br />revised list of patients that the Kings Daughters Hospital authorities have requested the City <br />to pay. There are no frauds in the budget for this item and if pa~ents are to be made to the <br />hosoital, it will require a soecial appropriation. '' <br /> <br /> Motion of M~. Howard to refer to the special meeting <br /> on December ~th~ was adopted. <br /> <br /> 5th - "I am submitting herewith a letter concerning the disposi- -. <br /> tion of the property known as the Jeffery Wilson site in the City of Portsmouth. It is my un- <br /> derstanding that it is the desire of the City to dispose of this matter. I rec0mmehd that if <br /> the City council desires to turn the property- back over to the Portsmouth Redevelopment ~ud <br /> Rousing ~uthority for disposal~ that an ordinance or resolution: rescinding the act%on of the <br /> Conncil at the previous meeting where an appropriation was passed providing for funds for <br /> psyment of this property~ be placed on its first readir~. <br /> If the Cite desires to pay for the prooerty and hold' it for <br /> future needs or to dispose of it at a later date~ then it ~lll be neeesskry to work out some <br /> plan for financing the project since there are no funds in the present or proposed budget for <br /> <br />this item." <br /> <br />~th~ was adopted. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Howard to refer to the soecia! meeting of December <br /> <br />of theCounoil <br /> <br /> 6th - "I am submitting here~ith a oetition requesting the Council <br /> · ~ <br />to take ste~s necessary to have flood lights mnsta_led on th2& Carver Homes Playground..
