Mapp, Superintendent of City Schools, was read: "It is going to be necessary to put a new heating plant in the Sixth Avenue School dur- ing the summer. If this plant is going to be installed in time for operation next fall, we must begiu planning for it at once. The School Board would like to have your permission to proceed with this matter immediately, It is my understanding that this will como out of the utility tax fund, rather than from a general appropriation., Motionof Mr. Wilson that the School Board be authorized to proceed with plans for in- stalling a new heating plant in the Sixth avenue School was adopted. The following letter From A.J. Mapp, Superintendent of Schools,. was read: "I am inclosing a copy of a letter from Mr.Walford of Walford and Wright, Architects, stating concessions he has agreed to make on his fees for the new I C Norcom High School." Inclosure - "In compliance with a request by the City Council, we will agree to reduce our fee on equipment to one half the usual fee, and further, will not bil2 any fee on the shop equipment. In ma~tng this concession, we wish it understood that it will not set a precedent on any future work as we are doing so on this project in order to co-operate with the School Board and Council. Mr. Duke asked me to let them know end we re- quest that you please pass this information on to them." On motion filed. Motion of ~ir. Wilson bhat a committee be appointed to design a plaque to be placed on the aew Police Building was adopted. The Chair appointed the following committee: Messrs. Bilisoly, Warren ~nd Wilson Motion of Mr. Houghton that the City Attorney be authorized to accept the deed for three lots bounded by Airline Boulevard~ Louisa Street and Grove Avenue, was adopted.
