I~ submit~ the attached which has been concurred in by Mr. <br /> <br />"The question of renting stalls at the City Mar~t was brought to the attention of <br />the City ~L%nager, by J.B. Pague, through his attorney, E. A. Cadmus. The hearing was <br />held at the office of the City Manager and ~. Pague and others were heard expressing <br />their views concerning the matter. H.E. Phelps, Chief of the Bureau of Markets, and <br />Dr. L.H. Denny, Director of Public Health snd Welfare, were heard stating their views <br />in the matter. <br />By 0ity ordinance, the right to rent and to terminate the permits is vested in the <br />Director of P~blic Welfare and the Chief of Bureau of Narke~s. The ordinance provides <br />that vacancies w~]l be filled from a waiting list on file in the office of the Chie~ <br />of the Bureau of Markets and in order which applications are filed in the office, pro- <br />vided the applicant will, in the judgment of the Director of Public Welfare and Chief <br />of the Bureau of Markets, make a suitable and satisfactory tenant. <br />After hearing all ef the views presented in this case, I am of the opinion that the <br />Director of Public Welfare an~ Chief of the Bureau of Narkets acted within the provi- <br />sions of the City ordinance governing the operation of the City Narket end I therefore <br />concur in their action." <br /> <br />On motion filed. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr.~eiseman that the next regular meeting he held on Nay 31st, 1951 at 7:~0 <br /> <br />P.N., was adopted. <br /> <br />Notion of Mr. Bilisoly to suspend the rules to hear from Mr. Katz was adopted. <br /> <br /> Er.
