<br />The minutes of meeting held on August l~th, 1951 were read and approved.
<br />
<br /> Mr. Weisemau, reporting for the Committee appointed to study proper equipment to be
<br />used in the General Registrar's office, recommended that the I.B.M. system be used, and his motion that an appro-
<br />priation of $1,121.O0 be placed on its first reading, was adopted.
<br />
<br />The following Committee report was submitted:

<br /> · "The Committee appoint? to conside.r the use of Oosport Re.ad (~.Route 337) went upo~
<br />the premises ~a~.d mmspected the proposed route from uts intersectmon with Elm Avenue to its !intersection with Elm
<br />Avenue to its~ mntersecti~ with Route 58. We recdm~end that this route be desm~ated as ~ Federal-State Aid
<br />Highway and that a right of way in the width of eighty feet be secured and that th-e highway be widened to a Width
<br />of forty-eight feet between curbs and that the project extend westward on Route 58 to the west corporate limits
<br />of the City, the ci~y?s share in the cost of this project to be 25% of the total cost."

<br />On motion of Mr. Grimes, the recommendation of the committee was adopted.

<br /> 1st - "I submit herewith a letter .from Chief L. C. Warren concerning the retirement
<br />of Lieut. LeRoy Sunders. I concur in Chief Warren's recommendatmon concerning this matter, and recommend that it
<br />be referred to the Retirement Board."

<br />Motion of Er. Bilisoly to concur in the recommendation of the City Manager, was

<br /> 2nd - "I am attaching an ordinance for the purpose of levying a special assessment
<br />on the properby owners whose property abuts the west side of Chestnut St. between Clifford and Lincoln Sts., for
<br />their one-third portion of the cost of the sidewalk which the City proposes to construct in front of their pro -
<br />perry.. I request that the ordinance be placed on its first reading."

<br /> 3rd - "I submit the following report on the recommendation of Fenton G. Jordan,Jr.,
<br /> on which a hearing was held in m~ office on Friday, August 24, 1951. The result of the hearing is attached hereto
<br /> and made a part of this report.
<br /> I concur in Mr. Jordan's recommendation on placing parking meters on the we~
<br /> side of High Street to K~-g Street, except for the necessary loading zones are now established.
<br /> I recommend that meters be placed on Crawford Street from King Street to
<br /> South Street on both sides except where necessary to maintain loading zones.
<br /> I recommend that meters be placed on Middle and CoUnty Streets adJac-mmt to
<br /> the City Collector's office, l~m~ting parking to fifteen minutes.
<br /> ~ I recommend th.at meter.s be placed on both sides of Middle Street to the eas~

<br /> Green Street, both sides fro~ C~nty to London Street.

<br /> I further recommend no park~g on the north side of London Street from Craw-
<br />ford to Second Avenue, fr~m 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.; no parking on %he south side of London Street between 8:00
<br />~A.M. and 9:30 A.M., from Court to Crawford St.
<br /> No parking on County St~reet, north side, from Court Street to Sixth Ave
<br /> I recommend that meters be ~ustalled on all of the streets mentioned above
<br />except in such places as are needed amd required for loading pur~ses."
