<br /> "RESOLVED, that the City of Portsmouth borrow from the American Nationa1
<br /> Bank, Portsmouth, Virginia, the'sum of Cae Hundred Thousand Dollars
<br /> ($t00,000.00), in anticipation of the collection of the r~enues of the
<br /> City for the calendar year 1952; that the proper officers be authorized
<br /> to make a note or notes maturing at any time prior to June 30th, 1952,
<br /> and the revenues of the City for the current year are pledged to the ~e-
<br /> payment of such borrowing,,

<br /> 0n motion of Mr. Houghton, said resolutions were adopted.

<br /> 10th - "I recommend that the Norfolk County School Superintendent be authorized and di-
<br />rected to proceed to secure from Federal Authorities the building located on the City Farm and presently used by
<br />the Schools of Norfolk County, with the understanding that a satisfactory agreement will he reached with the
<br />School Board of the County to transfer the ~uilding to the City of Portsmouth.,

<br /> Motion of ~. Bitisoly that the City Manager be authorized to negotiate with Norfolk 0ounty
<br />School authorities in trans£erring title to said building to the City of Portsmouth, was adopted.
<br />
<br /> llth - "I recommend that the Council concur in the request of the Board of Directors ~of the
<br />Dental Clinic of the Beazley Foundation that the Board be authorized to employ a Dental Hygienist and that an
<br />appropriation in the sum of $750.00 be placed on its first reading for the purpose of paying the salary for the
<br />three months ending June 3Oth, 1952."
