<br />provided under Division Ea of the Contract documents an~ specifications for the Westhaven sewers prepared by
<br />Greeley and Hanson, Engineers of Chicago, Illo
<br /> I reco~nd that the City ¥~nager be authorized ~ud directed to execute
<br />the same for and on behalf of the City of Portsmout~ and that the City Clerk be authorized and directed to attest
<br />the same and affix- the City Se~l ~hereto.~'
<br /> M~tion of Mr. Houghton that the City Manager be authorized to sign the contract
<br />and the City Clerk be authorized to attest ~nd affix the seal of the City thereto, was adopted.
<br /> Motion of Mr. Howard that the City M~uager request the contractor to ~rchase
<br /> n~ materials possible from Portsmouth me~chaut~s, was adopted.
<br /> 2nd - "I attach hereto a copy of a contract between the City of ?ortsmouth,Vir-
<br /> ginia, and the Layne Atlantic Company of Norfolk,Va., for bhe construction of a welI and ~,~mping equipment at
<br /> the Lake Kilby water pl~ut and recommend that the City Mauager be authorized and directed to execute the same
<br /> ~or and on behalf of the City of Portsmouth and that the City Clerk attest and affix the~City Seal thereto,"
<br /> Motion of Mr.Smith that the City Manager be authorized to sign the contract and
<br /> that theCity Clerk be authorized tc attest ~ud affix.the City Sea~ thereto, was adopted.
<br /> ~rd ~ ~I recommend that an appropriation of $27~o00 to cover deficit on expense
<br /> of visit of Legislature to Hampton Roads, be placed on its first reading.~
<br /> Motion of ~r. Weiseman to appropriate $272,00 for said purpose was adopted aud
