September 9th, 1952. ~'The School Board of the City of Portsmouth in regular session, Friday, September iSth, 1952, directed me to request the City of Portsmouth to ~rchase for school use the parcels, of property located at 9t5, 9~9, 953 South Street, 925 Bart Street, and 1009 - lO11 Pine Street. ~ll of this property is located in the same block as the present I.C. Norcom High School." Motion of Mr. Bilisoly to refer to the City Manager was adopted. The following letter from the Superintendent of Schools was read: "This is to notify you of a vacancy existiug on the Portsmouth School Board, due to the resignation of Mr. Edgar W. Lawrence from the Third District. Mr. Lawrence~s term was to expire on June 30, 195~." Motion of Mr. Houghton to go Luto the election of a member of the School Board from Third District, was adopted. N_r. Lawrence nomdnated C. Bradford ~ussell to fill the unexpired term of F~. La%wence, Vote being taken, Mr. Russell '~s u~animously elected to the School Board from the Third District. bus route as follows: thirty day trial period, was adopted. The Chair appointed the following committee on the water ~essrs~Hawks, Houghton mad Howard. The Chair appointed the following committee on ~essrs. Sm&th, Lawrence and Bilisoiy. Eotion of Mr. Howard that the Transit Company be requested to change the Pinners Point from Chautauqua avenue west on Cleveland to Broad, north on Broad, east on Detroit, for a contract to Norfolk County: the Telephone Company franchise: T~e C?mir appointed E.
